🛥️ My Spread — set up your boat
My Spread is your boat from behind: three downrigger positions, divers and board lines out each side, flatlines off the transom. Set up each line once — which rod, what depth, what bait — and riggr reuses it everywhere: the catch form fills itself with one tap, and Flurry mode shows your rods as buttons.
Where to find it
Phone: Tools tab → My Spread. Web: sign in at riggr.app → My Spread in the sidebar. Your spread syncs between both.
1. Start with the one-tap starter
First visit, tap “Set up my boat” and riggr lays out a typical trolling spread: three riggers (port / center / starboard), a diver each side, two board lines each side. Nothing about it is fixed — it's a starting point to edit, not a template you're stuck with. Prefer to build line by line? Skip the starter and tap any + on the picture instead.
1½. Or just say it — voice setup (Premium)
Tap the 🎙 “Describe your spread” button on My Spread and talk it in the way you'd tell a buddy: “Eight copper spread — 200, 250, 300, 400 on each side with a mag moonshine spoon — three riggers.” riggr expands that to every line you named (that sentence is eleven), shows a “Heard N lines” preview where you can fix a side or drop a row, then Replace my spread swaps your whole board in one tap — or Add to spread keeps what's already there.
Baits you speak are matched to your real tackle — your Tackle Box first, then the catalog — so the spoon lands as the actual linked lure, photo and all. If riggr isn't sure, it keeps your exact words instead of guessing, and a tap on the ✕ next to any match falls back to what you said. Works on the phone and on the web dashboard.
1¾. Rod locker — the sticks you own
The locker is your real rods, not today's set. Free adds each stick by hand. Premium: tap Common setupsfor Copper / Lead core / Steel / Riggers in one row each, or Typical set — length and an estimated depth fill in (copper ~22 ft per 100 ft; Torpedo 45 lb steel ~20 ft per 100 ft; lead core ~10 ft on the first color then ~5 ft each). Tap In the water to clip that rod into the picture (you pick the side). Remove takes it out of the locker — lines already fishing keep their gear. One rod, one place: if it is already fishing, we tell you which lane.
Logging a fish when the spread is last Saturday's? Under Which line? there is Or pick a rod — same locker, fills the form without rebuilding the boat first.
2. Make it your boat
- Tap any line to open it: name it (“300 copper”, “Port dipsy”), link a rod from your Reel Calculator inventory, set depth, presentation and setting (dipsy number, leadcore colors), line color, and lead length.
- Set the bait — pick from the catalog, type a custom description, or hang a saved Combo (flasher + fly) on it in one tap.
- Add or remove lines freely. Run two divers a side, or four boards, or none — a + appears on the next open position in each lane as you fill them. The picture only draws what you actually fish.
- Stow a line instead of deleting it when it's out of the water — stowed lines move to Out of the water at the bottom of the page so they don't cover the ones still fishing, and drop out of the quick-pick and Flurry until you deploy them again.
- “Other lines” below the picture holds anything laneless — a jigging rod, a cheater, the kid's rod.
3. Where it pays off
- Logging a catch: your deployed lines sit at the top of the catch form. Tap the one that fired — rod position, depth, presentation, setting, flasher, and bait all fill from the spread. Fix anything, save.
- Flurry mode: your deployed lines become big rod buttons — the fish is logged already knowing its gear. See the Flurry guide.
Change your spread mid-trip — swap a bait, stow a line — and the next tap uses the new setup. The catch keeps whatever the line was running when you logged it, so editing your spread later never rewrites old catches.
4. Share it with your crew ⚓
Fish the same boat as your dad, your kid, or a buddy? If you share a boat log (Logs → your boat), My Spread grows a second tab named after the boat. That spread belongs to the hull: everyone on the crew sees the same lines and any of you can change them — set it up at the dock together, or watch what the other planned from home.
- Bring my spread over moves your existing personal lines onto the boat in one tap, so nothing gets rebuilt.
- The catch form and Flurry offer the boat's lines alongside your personal ones, tagged with the boat name.
- Your personal My Spread tab stays yours — handy for the kayak or a buddy's boat.
